Sunflowers Barn is situated in a quiet part of Cornwall in the small hamlet of Trelowia. There are coastal walks and many lovely beaches nearby, including Seaton Beach, just a 3½ mile drive or 45mins walk - a more direct route - mainly through spectacular woodland. The steep hill on your return will keep you fit!
There’s a well-stocked farm shop and café (which does excellent breakfasts and cream teas) at Treddinick, just ¾ of a mile down the lane, and a large Morrisons supermarket 15 mins drive away in Liskeard. The Copley Arms, in nearby Hessenford, has a good reputation for food.
The quaint, bustling harbour town of Looe
is just 5 miles away, with a myriad of shops, pubs, cafes and a lovely sandy beach. Quieter beaches nearby include expansive Whitsand Bay
and stunning Lantic Bay
Though tucked away in a deeply rural location, Sunflowers Barn is just ¾ of a mile from the main road, making it easy to travel to many local tourist attractions. These include several historic houses, The Lost Gardens of Heligan
(under an hour) and The Eden Project
(30 mins). Exeter Airport is an hour's drive and the Brittany Ferries port at Plymouth just 25 mins.
Golf, fishing (on lakes or at sea), canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding are also available locally.
