Local Area

'Sunflowers' is situated in a quiet part of Cornwall in the small hamlet of Trelowia, a deeply rural location, ¾ of a mile down a lane from the main road (A387) between Widegates and Hessenford.

Seaton Beach is just a 3½ mile drive down a beautiful valley - or a 50 minute walk through spectacular woodland and riverside nature reserve. The uphill path on your return will keep you fit!

The picturesque, bustling harbour town of Looe is just 4.6 miles away, with a myriad of shops, pubs, cafes and a lovely sandy beach. From there, you can take a boat trip along the coast to the pretty fishing village of Polperro.

Both Seaton and Looe beaches are popular and ideal for small children. There are many quieter beaches nearby including stunningly beautiful Lantic Bay and expansive, spectacular Whitsand Bay.

Treddinick farm shop and café (which does excellent breakfasts and cream teas) is just ¾ of a mile down the lane. There it joins the main road, giving easy access to many local tourist attractions, including The Eden Project (40 mins) and The Lost Gardens of Heligan (just under an hour).

The Copley Arms, in nearby Hessenford, has a good reputation for food - and plenty of outdoor seating.

For younger guests, there's a monkey sanctuary, large go-kart track and a long zip wire over an unused quarry nearby.

There’s a popular surf school at Whitsand Bay and golf, fishing (on lakes or at sea), canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding are also available locally.

Exeter Airport is just over an hour's drive and Newquay airport 50 mins. The Brittany Ferries port at Plymouth is about 40 mins away.
